Baraa Al-Hafez M.D.
Dr. Baraa Al-Hafez has expertise in both spinal and cranial surgery. He obtained his medical degree from Tishreen University Medical School in Syria and completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. During this time, Dr. Al-Hafez was a co-investigator of two National Institutes of Health grants to study the progression of spinal cord injuries, with a focus on neural fiber organization. In addition, he was trained by pioneers of micro-neurosurgery, Drs. Gazi Yasargil and Ossama Al-Mefty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and finished his residency at Baylor College of Medicine at Houston.
Dr. Al-Hafez is a fellowship - trained spine surgeon who is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is a board-eligible neurosurgeon. He along with the rest of our team at the Spine Disc Replacement Center has the skills and experience needed to help alleviate your spinal pain.
